Les Marécottes is a family resort situated in the Trient Valley, connecting Martigny in Valais and Chamonix in France. A very beautiful area with many attractions for kids and parents alike.

The Trient glacier and irrigation channel; the waterfalls and Trient Gorges at Vernayaz, from Dailley to Granges and from Triège to Trétien; the glacial cauldrons at Salvan and Granges; the dinosaur tracks at Vieux-Emosson; above Finhaut the Salanfe and Emosson reservoirs; the panoramic plateau of La Creusaz; the Emaney, Barberine, Fenestral and Golettaz mountain passes; as well as Marécottes Alpine Zoo - where chamois, ibex, lynx, marmots, eagles and Canadian bears are to be seen - provide a fascinating panoply of excursion destinations that are both instructive and entertaining...

The Trient Valley provides the link between Martigny and Chamonix. Enjoy discovering the delights of the valley, in total relaxation, from the Mont-Blanc Express cog railway, the Barberine funicular, the Châtelard panoramic train and minifunic or from the La Creusaz cablecar.

The Trient Valley, protected by its deep, vertiginous gorges, looks inaccessible from Vernayaz in the Rhône Valley but a good road guarantees access from the East. The modern section of the Forclaz pass road from Martigny to Chamonix dominates the Western access to this tranquil hiking paradise.

Once you have crossed these natural barriers, the wide sunny plateaux of Salvan, Les Granges, Les Marécottes, Finhaut and Trient offer a warm welcome to lovers of wild, natural beauty and conceal 1001 curiosities for you to discover.
