Biggest and highest island of the Cyclades, Naxos is a fantastic destination whatever your desires. A lively city, Chora, tons of beaches, impressive mountains and wild remote areas.

Chora is not your average Cycladic village. It's a little city with a relatively modern part but above all with fascinating old districts. Maze of old lanes and ancient buildings, some dating back to the 13th century. Not to mention the long sea promenade, most lively area in town.

Beaches of Naxos are another asset: easy to reach and fully equipped on the west coast, more secret and often not easily accessible in other areas. In this first version of the app, we don't display photos of the most beautiful ones but we embed a global map showing where they are all situated.

Naxos has also quite wild areas that will appeal to hikers. The island is cut in two from north to south by a mountain range peaking 3,284 ft above the sea at Mount Zas, easy to reach by a marked trail. The southern part of the island is almost uninhabited and may be reached only by trails or dirt roads.
